About Us
John made Bozeman his home in 1998. After graduating from Montana State University, his desire for precision and artistry was first honed while working with Attention to Detail Painting in Big Sky, MT before founding Professional Brushworks, LLC in 2007. Hailing from a military family, John's early years were marked by frequent relocations, primarily in NE and TN. He continues to cherish the stability he's found in Bozeman with his wife Ellie, who serves as the Executive Director of the Downtown Partnership. Beyond his professional accomplishments, John is deeply passionate about his roles as a father to an active elementary-aged girl and an outdoor enthusiast. Whether carving the slopes, navigating river rapids, or casting a line in tranquil waters, John finds his true joy in embracing the wonders of nature through skiing, boating, fly-fishing, and camping.
Lawrence initially moved to Big Sky in 1994 with the intention of spending just a year to indulge in his love for skiing. However, his passion for the area led him to lay down roots. He earned his degree from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA, before furthering his education at MSU in Bozeman. Lawrence and his wife Carrie, a middle school teacher, share a love for outdoor activities including skiing, triathlons, cyclocross, and fly-fishing. In 1998, he established Attention to Detail Painting, LLC in Big Sky, later relocating to Bozeman in 2001, where he co-founded Professional Brushworks, LLC and has been thriving ever since. His interests in working on his old house, camping, and exploring the great outdoors perfectly complement his active lifestyle and love for the beautiful Montana landscape.
